Chemical Engineering Recruiters Who Know the Chemical Industry
Finding a good chemical engineer is hard enough. Finding one who has the right experience, fits your company, and actually wants to work at your location? That's another matter entirely.
At Sun Recruiting, we specialize in finding engineering, operations, and technical talent for chemical manufacturers throughout the United States.
We're not generalist recruiters who happen to fill chemical engineering jobs. This is what we do, and it's what we've been doing for more than 20 years.
Whether you're looking for a Process Engineer, a Plant Manager, or someone with a very specific technical background, we can help.
Have an opening? Let's talk. Why Chemical Manufacturers Work With Us
There are thousands of recruiting firms in the United States. Most will tell you they have an extensive network, decades of experience, and a commitment to customer service.
That's all well and good. But what does that actually mean for you?
Here's what we think matters.
We understand your industry.
There's a big difference between recruiting an engineer and recruiting an engineer who understands continuous chemical processing, batch manufacturing, process safety, plant operations, or the particular chemistry involved in your manufacturing process.
We spend our days talking to engineers, operations leaders, and hiring managers throughout the chemical industry. We understand the terminology, the technologies, and the differences between manufacturing environments.
That means less time explaining your business to us and more time evaluating candidates who actually fit.
We know the market.
Every year, we conduct extensive compensation research focused on chemical engineers in the United States.
Our 2026 Chemical Engineering Compensation Report included 1,947 respondents, giving us insight into salaries, benefits, and how compensation varies by experience, industry, and responsibility.
Why does that matter to you?
Because recruiting doesn't happen in a vacuum. If your compensation package isn't competitive, or the candidate pool is particularly thin for a certain type of experience, we'll tell you.
We would rather have that conversation at the beginning of a search than waste your time pursuing candidates who were never going to accept the job.
Our clients come back.
83% of our clients have used us to fill more than one position.
More than 20 clients have used us to fill at least five positions over the past decade.
We're proud of those numbers because repeat business is a pretty good indication of whether a recruiting firm is doing its job.

A Recruiting Firm With Actual Chemical Industry Experience
One of the questions we hear from hiring managers is whether we've recruited for a particular kind of position before.
It's a fair question.
Our publicly available placement history includes roles such as:
These are actual placements, with identifying information removed to protect our clients and candidates.
What Does It Cost to Work With Sun Recruiting?
Our fees are industry standard, and we offer both contingency-based and retained recruiting services.
Contingency Searches
You only pay if we deliver a candidate who accepts your offer.
There is no upfront recruiting fee under our standard contingency arrangement.
Retained Searches
For roles where urgency or discretion is particularly important, we can also conduct a retained search.
We guarantee a pre-agreed number of qualified candidates within a specified period. An upfront fee is required, but that amount is credited toward the eventual success fee.
In other words, the upfront payment doesn't add to the total agreed recruiting fee if the search results in a hire.
Specific deliverables, timing, fees, and guarantees are defined in the recruiting agreement.
More Than Just Recruiting
We also spend a considerable amount of time studying the chemical engineering employment market.
Our annual Chemical Engineering Compensation Report has become a resource for engineers and employers looking to understand compensation across the profession.
That research now extends through BenchComp, our compensation benchmarking platform.
We also publish ChemE Quarterly, which examines economic conditions and developments affecting the U.S. chemical manufacturing industry.
We do these things because understanding the market makes us better recruiters. And because we think sharing useful information benefits the entire chemical engineering community.
Looking for a Chemical Engineering Recruiter?
If you have an engineering, technical, or manufacturing leadership position to fill, we'd welcome the opportunity to discuss it.
We'll give you our perspective on the market, the availability of candidates, and what it may take to attract the right person.
If we think we can help, we'll tell you. And if we don't think we're the right firm for the search, we'll tell you that too.
